Avocado Turkey Burger

I'm not a big burger person, but I do occasionally love my Whataburger, Five Guys, or Smashburger. However, I am definitely a turkey burger fan! I love trying different versions of turkey burgers, but the one I came up with in this combination is simple, yet still satisfying. As a student, it's hard not to resort to fast food sometimes. However, I like taking the extra time to not only save money, but make my own healthier versions of food at home.

Serves: 1

Ingredients:
2 slices HEB Bake Shop- Honey Wheat Light Bread
1/2 Hass avocado
1 slice Kraft Fat Free Singles- Swiss
Baby spinach leaves
1 Jennie-O 90/10 Seasoned Turkey Patty

Directions:
Place the bread in a toaster and brown to your liking, then set aside open faced on a plate. Using a knife, smear the avocado evenly between the bread slices. Next, take 1/2 of your spinach, and place it atop the avocado of one of the slices. Put the stove on high, about 8-9 if your stove has numbers, and spray a skillet with non-stick spray. Cook the patty on the stove until done, and make sure to flip every so often so that it's equal on both sides.  When finished, turn the stove to low, about 3-4, and place the slice of cheese on the patty. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes, and then place atop one of the bread slices. Add the remainder of your spinach leaves on top of the cheese, put the other slice of bread on top, and serve.

Total, the burger comes out to 425 calories. I've tried this using regular burger buns, but find I actually prefer using toasted bread instead. Happy eating! :)
